Briar Crest Elementary

	Briar Crest Elementary School will host a community event from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Friday, May 17 to celebrate the school’s history and community as it prepares to close at the end of the current school year. The Briar Crest Backyard Boogie will include a barbecue and live entertainment. Band members, cheerleaders and drill team members from Pattonville High School will also perform. Current and former Briar Crest families, staff, volunteers and community members are invited to attend this free event. Overflow parking is available at McDonnell Park (across the street from the school's back field).

	Residents of the Pattonville School District are invited to experience the new pool at Pattonville High School through a series of community swims in May and June. Open swims for the community are scheduled from 8 to 11 a.m. on the following Saturdays: May 11 and June 1 and 22 at the Pattonville Aquatic Complex. The fee to participate, which covers the costs of paying for lifeguards, is $1 for students and senior adults (ages 55 and up) and $2 for adults.

	Below is information on summer activities for students offered by Pattonville and the community.

	On Friday April 12, 2013, Kelly Kendall Gordan from Pattonville's Public Relations' Department presented Dr. Marla Wasserman with the Pride of Pattonville Award, signifying her dedication and service to the Pattonville students and family. The entire staff and student body were there to watch her recieve this honorable award. The Briar Crest staff and students are very proud of Dr. Wasserman and all that she does for the Pattonville community.

	The Pattonville Board of Education on April 9 approved moving up the end of the school year since only two days were used to cancel school due to inclement weather.
